Beauvais-Tillé is marketed as a Paris airport. It actually sits 85 km north of the city, in Picardy. The airfare is often unbeatable — the transfer needs planning.
85 km: what that changes
The route follows the N1 then the A16 to Porte Maillot. In normal conditions, allow 1h10 to 1h20. Late in the day or on Sunday evenings, the A16 and the ring road easily add 30 minutes.
There is no direct rail link: Beauvais station is 15 minutes from the airport and the train reaches Gare du Nord in 1h15 with a change.
The official shuttle: the delayed-flight trap
The Beauvais shuttle reaches Porte Maillot in about 1h15 for roughly twenty euros. It is reliable in daylight, but two limits come up constantly:
- It departs on a fixed schedule, about 20–30 minutes after the scheduled landing — not the actual one
- The last departure follows the last flight of the day; a two-hour delay can strand you
- From Porte Maillot you usually still need a metro or taxi with your bags
- In peak season the queue can exceed one bus's capacity
Taxis and ride-hailing from Beauvais
Unlike CDG and Orly, no regulated flat fare exists on this route. A metered taxi frequently exceeds €180–250, and ride-hailing apps surge heavily on a long trip leaving a thinly served area.
Very few vehicles are available at Beauvais after 22:00: booking ahead is not a comfort, it is insurance.

Our advice, by flight
Daytime flight, solo traveller with cabin luggage: the shuttle remains the best price/simplicity ratio.
Evening flight, family, group, bulky luggage or an early connection the next morning: a private transfer avoids a difficult night 85 km from your hotel.
